The haldi ceremony is an auspicious part of weddings in Hindu culture. It marks the beginning of a new life and in all reality is one of the most fun events for both the bride and groom as well as attendees. The bride is slathered with haldi, oil and milk — considered good for skin and is believed to be a way to ward off any negative energies.
The bride's haldi outfit obviously needs to be extra, but at the same time it also needs to be comfortable and something you can move in because it's like holi with haldi! It goes without saying that yellows and mustards are the family of colours you should be wearing but you can opt for other fun and vibrant colours as well (since most attendees will be wearing yellow too).
