Karuna Ezara Parikh, author, poet, and screenwriter, never fails to sweep us away with her words. Everything she pens has a way of piercing right through your heart, settling in like it belongs there. While her book club, Karuna's Kitaab Club, offers a glimpse into her reading world and a chance to explore those books with her, we couldn't help but wonder what else Karuna loves. What are her go-to picks when it comes to fashion, food, and life in general? Luckily, we got the chance to chat with her, and she graciously spilled a thing (or ten). Read on to discover some of Karuna Ezara Parikh's absolute favourites!
A Few Of Author Karuna Ezara Parikh's Favourite Things
Favourite Restaurants
The newly reopened Sienna in Calcutta is currently top of my list. Their Bengal to Table menu is something truly special. Yauatcha for their vegan menu that is just divine. Ubuntu Eats (again in Calcutta) is a tiny little vegan café in a garage, and the food is outstanding.
Favourite Perfumes

Anything from Le Labo. I’ll never be sick of Calicut from Bombay Perfumery.
Favourite Jewellery Pieces
I just received a Victorian-style heart pendant for my 40th birthday from my mother, from Eina Ahluwalia's collection, and it’s so exquisite. Really anything by her has me swooning. The Misho bow earrings!

Favourite Footwear Brands
Slomotion’s sandals look delicious. And it’s almost Birkenstock weather! This year I’m eyeing their Cannes sandals.

Favourite Homeware
Obsessed with Lagavi’s ceramic curation. I currently love H&M Home’s striped cushion covers. Good Earth just opened in Calcutta and there’s a toast rack – of all things – that I think I’m definitely buying this year. I'm browsing Lazy Suzan Home for vintage pieces right now.

Favourite Summer Dresses
Everything from The Summer House. They’re still the best quality. I’m also excited to see what the next Drawn collection looks like.

Favourite Books (Recent Reads)
I strongly recommend The East Indian by Brinda Charry, and of course, the Karuna’s Kitaab Club Book of the Month, The Persians.

Favourite Summer Sarees
Everything Nadia Paar makes! Nalli’s organza collection.

Favourite Beauty & Self-Care Products
Just ordered a batch of Mud & Moon soaps and they’re so lovely. Also, loving Clinique’s Black Honey but as a lip oil, for this summer.

Favourite Instagram Accounts
Max La Manna is one of my favourite chefs on Instagram right now, especially for his no-waste recipes. Everyone in the world should be following Matt Bernstein for a breakdown of politics and gender issues.
