We all need someone who would tell us exactly what celebrities, influencers, tastemakers, founders, movers, and shakers have in their little black book. So, we became that person, and we’re shining the spotlight on the supremely talented Nori Norbhu, who's a digital illustrator and visual designer and owns one of the most wholesome stores on the internet selling picture-perfect stationery and everyday objects, inspired by her own art. It's a visual treat whenever we stumble upon her page with each project building, defining, and redefining perspectives. We asked her about her favourite things that keep her creative juices flowing and things she keeps wanting more of, and here's what she had to say.
A Few Of Nori Norbhu's Favourite Things
Aware Ceramic Studio
"I love ceramics, and this pottery studio and school run by Namrata Baruah is my go-to. They have some gorgeous-gorgeous creations, and my favourite is this incense house (I might have named myself). They focus on minimalist and intentional ceramics that are handcrafted to bring joy."
Ikea's Monitor Stand
"As a digital illustrator who spends countless hours on their computer and thereby at their desk, this monitor stand from Ikea has really made a significant difference. This monitor desk has really sorted my little desk; it has a small drawer that allows me to store things like notepads and pens. It also gives the monitor enough height so that you don't have to keep bending your neck."
Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturiser
"I can’t express how much I love this toner as a dry skin girlie. Couldn’t recommend enough of it!" Laneige is known to pack a punch of hydrating and skin-nourishing ingredients in each of their products, and this miraculous skin toner is going viral for all the right reasons. It strengthens the skin barrier, repairs the skin, and is completely safe to use for folks with sensitive skin as well.
Mangala's Tea Time Cafe
"If you know me, then you know my absolute love for Chai. I am always sipping my chai at any given time, and my favourite chai adda is just below my studio that I can’t ever get over [sic]. You can get a great cup of chai and snacks like Palampuri and samosas. I'm here everyday for my favourite cup of tea in the city."
Nari & Kage
"This fromagerie in Bangalore does a lovely weekend bake that I absolutely wait for. I go for their delicious Basque cheesecakes and yummy galettes! Nari and Kage make artisanal cheeses and a spectacular array of bread, dips, chutneys, and more. They are perfect for gifting or when you need a snack with a much more interesting and elevated flavour profile."
Picture This By Molly Bang
"As an illustrator, my all-time favourite book is Picture This by Molly Bang. Using the tale of Little Red Riding Hood as an example, Molly Bang uses boldly graphic artwork to explain how images and their individual components work to tell a story that engages emotions. A must if you're someone who loves art and design."
Staple East
"One look at my studio, and you know that I love my decor to be aesthetic and practical. And for that, Staple East is a favourite home decor brand of mine, as they build sustainable and functional products made out of raw materials, like rattan and bamboo. It gives me a lovely reminder of home as well!"
Sun Drink Gel Sunscreen SPF 50 Pa++++
Hollyland Lark M2 Wireless Lavalier Microphone
"I was looking out for a wireless mic and the Hollyland Lark M2 is absolutely beautiful. The mics are magnetic and seem to lessen the noise when I'm shooting in my studio. This is a great product for anyone who wants to get into content creation."
Mayukh Tea
"We have all established my love for chai, and you have to try Mayukh Tea, based in Darjeeling, which has all my favourite black and green teas. The Tea Culture of the World also has some yummy mint teas. I highly recommend it."
