Making movie plans is tougher than it might seem. Narrowing down a movie that everyone agrees to see, a time when everyone is free and finding a show that coincides with that time, then finally booking ticket, even though it is worth the hustle, sometimes you simply don't want to commit so much to watching a movie. And on those days, our good old OTT comes to the rescue! In an ode to all those days where we choose to stay in and binge watch something huddled together with our family in the living room, here's a list of all the upcoming OTT releases in October that we're excited for.

Upload Season 3

If you knew you can have a digital afterlife after you die, what could possibly go wrong, right? Well, turns out, there's a lot that can. Upload, Amazon Prime Video's new-age comedy series by none other than Greg Daniels—the same person who gifted us The Office and Parks And Recreation—is about just that. There's a whole lot of drama and spice in Nathan's afterlife. A possibly shady death in the first place, a GF who just won't let go, and a brewing romance. To that mix, season two added being downloaded aka 'born' again, and now season three will expand on the possibility of existing in two places at the same time, with two completely different partners. For those of us who are on the constant look out for highly bingeable, bite-sized pieces of hilarious watches to keep us company with our meals—this one is a great option!

Khufiya

Based on true events and adapted from the 2012 novel Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan, Khufia is a Vishal Bharadwaj film that stars Tabu as a R&AW agent who goes head to head with Ali Fazl aka Ravi Mohan, suspected of being a CIA mole. The trailer tells us that it's a story of love, revenge, loyalty, and betrayal, and, if it is anything like the novel, we know it's going to be nail-bitingly gripping! The story is about how Ravi manages to escape, even after being under strict surveillance and the events that follow. Tune in to Netflix to know the rest of it!

Kaala Paani

Set in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Kaala Paani teases something very eerie about it. The background music is low-key spooky and intriguing, and there's a mysterious symbol that is shown a lot in the teaser. A thriller by genre, the plot of the show revolves around a mysterious illness descending upon the islands. In the recent years, there's nothing scarier than a survival drama that deals with mysterious illnesses. Starring Mona Singh and Ashutosh Gowariker, Kaala Paani will be about a battle between humans and the wrath of nature, and that's kind of all the information we need to know to be sure that it will be worth a watch!

Kushi

If a romantic drama is your vibe, then Samantha Ruth Prabhu & Vijay Deverakonda starrer film, Kushi, is what you need to watch. If the film's impressive theatrical response is any measure, we're sure the film will live up to its name for you! Its chirpy background score, sprinkling of humour and feel-good emotions and just the right serving of drama make it a very hard film to dislike. Vijay Deverakonda said that while the spew of heroic characters in Telugu action films like Pushpa & KGF might not be relatable for the audience, Viplab from Kushi definitely will. There seems to be a sizzling chemistry between the film's two leads and a clash of ideologies of the families, making it a fully entertaining watch.

The Devil On Trial

We're SUPER excited about this one, and you will be too if you've any sort of inclination towards the horror genre. It's a dark documentary based on USA's famous 'Devil Made Me Do It' case. It investigates the happenings of a murder trial in which 'demonic possession' was cited as defense for the first and the last in the US. The series will recall that heinous crime and use firsthand accounts and actual recordings of the alleged possession in this series. The brutal murder in Connecticut also drew attention of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who we all know from our favourite Conjuring series. Ahem!

Sultan Of Delhi

From the director of The Dirty Picture, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, and Taxi no. 9211 Milan Luthria, The Sultan Of Delhi is based on the book of the same name by Arnab Ray. Starring talented actors like Tahir Raj Bhasin, Mouni Roy, Anjum Sharma, Vinay Pathak, Nishant Dahiya, Anupriya Goenka, Harleen Sethi, and Mehreen Pirzadathe, the series is co-written and co- directed by The Family Man director, Suparn Verma. Set in the 1960s, the 'gangster-drama' seems to be spicy, steamy, and satisfying from the trailer. Packed with gunshots, ambition, glamour, and a background score that holds it all together, the trailer of the period drama caught our attention, for sure.

Mumbai Diaries Season 2

The series that stirred us with its tale of the medical team and the healthcare professionals that handled the aftermath of the 26/11 attacks, is now back with another season. The highly anticipated second season will deal with the Mumbai floods, and the cast that we all loved then, Konkona Sen Sharma, Mohit Raina, Tina Desai, among others are all set to return. Mumbai Diaries is one of the very few medical dramas of India, and it is also unlike the others because of the seriousness of the setting it uses. Add it to your watch list!

Loki Season 2

Season 1 of Loki won the hearts of crtics and fans alike, and now, it's FINALLY back with its second season! The charming God Of Mischief  is back again, dealing with the aftermath of the battle for the soul of the TVA.

Charlie Chopra And The Mystery Of Solang Valley

Even though this one released in the last week of September, you've got to add it to your October binge list if you haven't already watched it! Directed by the 'king of adaptations,' National Award Honoree Vishal Bhardwaj, we're excited because the series is based on an Agatha Christie novel, The Sittaford Mystery, but set in the Solang Valley of Manali. Snow-covered mountains, old-world mansions, an Agatha Christie murder mystery but the characters get an Indian twist... It sounds like something that will make for a great watch.

Tumse Na Ho Payega

After his roles in Pataal Lok, Rocket Boys, Adhura, and Made In Heaven, Ishwak Singh has really won the hearts of critics and audience alike. And now he's back starring in another film, Tumse Na Ho Payega! Releasing on Disney + Hotstar on 29 September, this comedy drama film will make a great watch over the upcoming long-weekend (or even after, depends on when you're reading this list). The film is about Gaurav and his friends, navigating through adult life, bored with their jobs and the lack of main-character energy in their love lives. Of course, like all young-adults, they dream of starting a business and 'following their hearts.' We don't know yet how that would go but we know for sure that it will be a hilarious and fun ride.
