Adhai Din Ka Jhopra

Claiming many titles to its name, Adhai Din Ka Jhopra is one of the oldest historical spaces of Ajmer while also being the oldest Mosque in all of India. It represents Indo-Islamic architecture, backed by many local stories for its name. Some say that it was built in two-and-a-half-days, while some other says that the name signifies the temporality of life, that many Sufi saints propounded. A must-visit during one's Ajmer trip to experience the different influences of culture and practices in one long-withstanding area.

Ajmer Fort

Ajmer Fort is one of the most significant landmarks that served as the meeting point between Sir Thoma Roe and Jahangir, which later really defined the presence of the British in India. It was initially constructed by the famous emperor Akbar to honour the Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chisti and now offers panoramic views of the surrounding Aravlli hills. It's an absolute visit for anyone who likes delving into historical narratives with a breathtaking visual cue.

Taragarh Fort

Ajmer Jain Temple

Ajmer has a lot of rich religious influence other than its famous dargahs. Ajmer Jain temple, or Soniji ki Nasiyan is the other hotspot pilgrimage of the city. The temple was built in the late nineteenth century, with its main chamber known to be the 'Swara Nagri', still flaunting a number of gold figurines and statures that are glimmering to experience. It's an outstanding experience, getting to spot the utter opulence and grandeur of the city and its community.

Mayo College Museum

Mayo College is a significant sight in Ajmer, with colonial history in its roots. The museum area is fairly large, with over 18 rooms, encompassing a great collection of old books, paintings, photographs, coins, and other sculptures donated by its students, parents, and other travellers of that time. It is among the largest college museums in the world and an interesting visit for anyone who wants to experience the old artefacts of education at its very nascent stage.

Ana Sagar Lake

Ana Sagar is an artificial lake in Ajmer built by Arnoraja, the grandfather of Prithvi Raj Chauhan. You must also check out Daulat Bagh, a garden beside the lake that adds significantly to the visit. You can book local boating trips from here and embrace the serene views with a little peace.

Ajmer Government Museum

Established in 1908, the Ajmer Government Museum has sectional galleries on archaeology, arts, sculptures, armoury, and crafts. These galleries relay the stellar history in memorials where battles were fought and history was created. The museum focuses especially on the sculptures of female deities, which include Mahishashur Mardini, Saptamatrikas, Jain Saraswati, and Kali.
