Best Way To Reach: Surat is well-connected with the National Highway 08, and the Surat Airport is just 12 km away from the centre of the city. Depending on where you are, you can very easily travel to Surat by road, air, or rail.

Sardar Patel Museum

Start your sightseeing with a little history, and visit Sardar Patel Museum. The place embodies the state and the country's history inside its walls and was frequented by the legendary Rabindranath Tagore at one point. It served as the Raj Bhavan for some time and now amazingly displays exhibits for silk, glassware, other textiles, paintings, and ivory, with a spacey planetarium inside. You should also keep a look out for the laser shows that they conduct every day during the evening relaying history from the Vedic period to the Mughal era.

Dutch Garden

Dutch Garden is a cemetery, housing tombs of British officers and travellers of that time. The landscaping of the space is well done and maintained, as it looks very nicely structured and beautiful. You must remember to visit the tomb of the eminent personality Baron Adrian Van Reede, who built the first trading port in Surat. They have mountains and colourful flowerbeds as well. It's a perfect blend of history and picturesque beauty.

Ambika Niketan Temple

Ambika Niketan Temple is a very popular piligrimage site of Hindus and was built around 1969 by Smt. Bharati Maiya. It is a popular place to visit in Surat throughout the year but is especially a wonderful sight during the Navratris, where the true adoration of the devotees can be spotted with the decor and events. The temple houses a beautiful statue of the Goddess Ambika.

Dandi Beach

Dandi Beach is a beautiful salt marsh beach, which contributed towards a significant movement in the struggle for Independence. It's a must-visit for gorgeous sunsets and thrilling historical narratives. A must-visit as it's an amusing visit for kids as well as adults.

Jagdish Chandra Bose Aquarium

It's said to house more than a hundred species of fish and estuaries, with more than fifty specialised tanks that have in-built ecosystems. Surat Castle

Surat Castle is one of the city's historical heritage sites and the most widely used trade link between India and other countries. Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden

A relatively newer addition to the lost list of places to see in Surat, Sneh Rashmi Botanical Garden was inaugurated in 2011. The exquisite garden is sprawled across 34 acres of area, displaying an array of ornamental flowers, herbs, medicinal plants, and a cactus greenhouse that greatly fascinates the tourists. There is a pond as well, with all things great maintained, making it a perfect spot to immerse yourself in nature or have a beautiful picnic experience with your loved ones.

Amaazia Water Park

Well, who wouldn't enjoy an amazing, dopamine-induced water park experience? Shri Swaminarayan Temple

It was built by the Swaminarayan Sect of Vaishnavism in 1996, who believed that he was the reincarnation of Narayana, it is another major Hindu pilgrimage site, populated by devotees all year round. You can also find idols of Harikrishna Maharaj, Radha-Krishna Dev, Lord Swaminarayan, Gunatitanand Swami, and Gopalanand Swami, a great place to see if you enjoy finding history a little peace within these institutions.

Gavier Lake

A true gem for all nature lovers, Gavier Lake is located ten kilometres away from the city but is worth every arduous trip. The locals call it, 'Heavens on Earth', a paradise for all bird-watchers, the lake becomes loaded with hundreds of lotus flowers, with migratory birds floating around. There is no better place to visit around Surat during monsoons, and one trip there would be one of the core-memory experiences, that's for sure.
