Hailey Bieber, the it girl who has the perfect outfit, the perfect pictures, and the perfect skin always, jumped on the celebrity-owned beauty brand bandwagon and blessed the internet with yet another skincare brand to obsess over back in 2022. With her being the flag bearer of the 'glazed donut skin' trend and her eponymous (ICYMI, Hailey's middle name is Rhode) skincare line fuelling it, we had reasons strong enough to make us want to get our hands on it ASAP. Adding on to this was the fear of missing out on a celebrity brand that might be doing something right, I mean, look at Hailey's swoon-worthy skin and millions of searches for the brand online as proof.

But, just like all good things take time, Rhode Skin isn't available for sale in India yet and so, to keep our enthusiasm flowing we started looking for alternatives to satiate our skincare hoarding impulses. While these products may not have the exact same formula and feel, they do have the same star ingredients that might do the trick and give your skin similar benefits as Rhode. And as you already know, we are not ones to gatekeep so here we are, sharing them with our fellow skincare junkies.

Glazing Milk

As the name suggests, it's a milky essence aiming at making your skin look (and feel) glazed. Packed with ceramide trio, the holy grail ingredient known to keep your skin hydrated to the T, this recently launched Rhode product hit me hard with FOMO and had me dive straight into the lookout for an alternative. I found the COSRX Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream Mist to have the same goodness with not three, but rather six types of ceramides to give you the dewy glass skin glow and a somewhat similar cream-like formula in a spray bottle that strengthens the skin's natural moisture barrier. For those who are new to skincare, a healthy skin barrier is the key to all your skin problems, to put it simply.

The Face Shop Rice & Ceramide Moisturizing Toner and Thank You Farmer Rice Pure Essential Toner are close seconds with an added bonus of rice water benefits. Recommended for those with oily-skin leaning towards watery toners/essences.

Peptide Glazing Fluid

With A-listers all over the world (including Alia Bhatt) giving their nod to this multipurpose glow-on-the-go gel-serum hybrid, you can find this Rhode product  topping every beauty/skincare fanatic's wishlist. This fluid is a cross between a serum and a gel. It is super lightweight and melts into the skin for an instant glow that not only gives the glistening effect but also hydrates and plumps the skin. The SNP Prep Peptaronic Serum is a close alternative with all the same major ingredients i.e. Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, and Castor Oil in place of the Marula Oil. One thing to be noted is that this serum doesn't have the same slip to it as the glazing fluid and is much lighter in texture, making it an ideal choice for people with non-dry skin types.

The Ordinary Multi Peptide + HA Serum and Minimalist 10% Multi Peptide Face Serum are also quite similar to the glazing fluid in terms of ingredients.

The Rhode Skin website claims this cream to be an "antioxidant peptide powerhouse that delivers hydrated, smoother, softer skin over time". The ingredient list consists of trusty actives such as peptides and niacinamide along with shea butter and squalene to pack in the moisture in this hyped product. A moisturiser I consider a close alternative is the Wishful Honey Whip Peptide Moisturizer. This is a lightweight moisturiser that has the same luxurious feeling as the BRC and additional antioxidants like Manuka Honey and Cica which are known for their soothing properties.

However, if you prefer fragrance-free moisturisers, The FormulaRX Peptide Ceramide Moisturiser and Suganda Squalane Ceramide Moisturiser are great alternatives.

I have lost count of the number of reels I have watched with beauty creators enjoying slathering their lips with this product. The Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment gives a glossy finish to the lips, thanks to the Shea Butter. The peptides (probably the most favoured active in all Rhode products) also help reduce the appearance of fine lines while hydrating the lips. The Nudestix Hydra-Peptide Lip Butter is my first choice as an alternative with the same key ingredients, along with Avocado Oil for some extra hydration. However, it has a minty feel to it and if that's not your cup of tea, try the Laneige Lip Treatment Balm or the Cosmedix Enhance Lip Plumping Mask instead.
