If you clicked on here, then we're assuming that you have an outdoor area in your house — a big balcony, patio, garden area, a or fancy poolside — that you're looking to make a perfect outdoor seating area out of, especially right now, when it's the perfect time to soak up the winter sun or enjoy a hot cup of joe. And we've got even better recommendations if you're planning to build one from scratch.

Terrace Sit Out Design

If you have a terrace area, then you should definitely consider transforming it into a sit out area. This is possibly one of the easiest parts of your home, as you have enough space and an ample amount of sunlight. The lovely design you see has been designed by Epsilon Architecture & Design. What we like about utilising your terrace is the fact that you can make as much or as few renovations, from putting in just two chairs to adding an entire a shed.

Modern Sitout Design

This fancy option is great for people who like to host a lot of parties, you've got a grilling station, a fire pit in the middle to keep you cosy and warm, and even a pergola for some shade during the daytime. The image here looks so lush and beautiful, and to mimic the same we suggest you but big green plants all around the perimeter.

Simple Sitout Design

This one works well for big and small sitout areas alike, all you have to do is add a couple of outdoor sofas and a centre table with lots of plush cushions to make it comfortable. If you're someone who likes to decorate the area, then this design allows you to do so in full capacity. You can choose big plants, planters, flowers, lights and so much more.

Wooden Sitout Design

Having an outdoor seating area in proximity to your indoor area is useful for many reasons, the main one being that it encourages the flow of movement and also makes the place more accessible and easily usable. This means you'll end up using this area more than usual. This sitout design in itself is pretty simple, with an L-shaped sofa and a centre table. The design comes to life due to the wooden accents on the ceiling and floor, matched with the furniture as well.

Swimming Pool Sitout Design

Having a swimming pool means you automatically have access to a beautiful area, just adding a couple of daybeds and tables is enough to turn it into a sitout area for you and your family.

Makeshift Sitout Design

Now if you have a small space but still want to have a nice sitout area during pleasant weather this outdoor area is the one for you! We were heavily inspired by Susanne's area, all you need is a couple of low-rise wooden slabs that can be used as tables when in need, and kept in storage when not in use. Use floor cushions as chairs and do a beautiful tablescape to enjoy your time outside. As this design is temporary, it also proves to be cost-effective and is renter-friendly.

Relaxing Sitout Design

Another one from Susanne, this sitout design is how we'd like to describe Sundays. It's relaxing and comforting even to look at, a place we can spend the entire day reading, writing, and playing with our pets. The design is simple, you need a table, some chairs, and an umbrella for some shade. We would highly suggest making sure that one of the chairs is an extremely comfortable one, something like the lounging deck chair in this photo. Apart from that, make sure you have some snacks, lots of greenery around and that's it.

Balcony Sitout Design

Transforming your balcony into a sitout area is probably one area that instantly comes to mind when thinking about an outdoor area. And while adding a chair and table is the obvious choice, we were inspired by Kateryna Gonchar's dining design. It's a rather small area but designed in a minimal and functional way. A small dining table with white table sheets and wooden chairs with cushion pads for comfortable seating. We love how easy yet Pinterest-y this design looks and feels.
