Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple

Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is an ancient Hindu temple enveloped in a dense forest. They suggested that he give the Brahmins a gift of his land. Parasurama propitiated Varuna Deva (the Lord of the Seas) to get some land for himself. Varuna appeared before him and advised him to throw his parasu (the axe Lord Siva had given him) into the sea to reclaim land. He throws it, raises a piece of land from the sea, and gives it as a gift to the Brahmins. This land is believed to be present-day Kerala.
