ABOUT THE ARTISTES Amit Heri – Guitars / Composer Amit Heri’s artistry is centered on presenting innovative music in a global form, with the purpose of bringing joy and connection between people and cultures. Based on authentic life experiences, his music is a seamless integration of Indian and Western musical, energetic and emotional content. Included in OPEN magazine’s list of 50 most creative people in India, Amit studied Performance and Composition at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and has performed at top international music festivals & venues - Berlin Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, London Jazz Festival, Paris Jazz Festival, Rome World Music Festival, the WOMAD Festival, World Social Forum and many more. He has performed with many internationally renowned artists including Charlie Mariano, Trilok Gurtu, Zakir Hussain, U. Srinivas, Robert Miles, Salif Keita, Angelique Kidjo, Louis Banks and Matthew Garrison. He lives and creates between Los Angeles, Hawaii and India. www.amitheri.com Ranjit Barot - Drums Hailed by world-renowned guitar-legend John McLaughlin as “one of the leading edges in drumming”, Ranjit Barot is one of a few Indian musicians who performs regularly on the world's most prestigious stages. His skill and individuality have led him to performances with some of India’s most noted artists – Ustad Zakir Hussain, mandolin legend U. Srinivas, violin maestro L. Subramaniam, Hindustani slide-guitar master exponent Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, sarangi legend Sultan Khan saab, ghatam maestro Pandit ‘Vikku’ Vinayakaram, and with Jazz legend Louis Banks, to name a few. He is also the Musical Director for all of Oscar-winning composer, A.R. Rahman’s live concerts. Mohini Dey This 19-year-old bass guitar whiz kid performs with the confidence and maturity of a seasoned musician. Mohini Dey has played with some of the world's most revered musicians and music composers like singer Hariharan, Ranjit Barot and A.R Rahman at different events. And then there’s work in Rahman’s newly formed a capella band NAFS, and in a couple of other new bands that include Taufiq Qureshi, Naveen Kumar, Stephen Devassy, Sivamani, Aditya Kalyanpur and Suchismita. So impressed was Ranjit Barot with Dey’s ability with a Fender, that he featured her in his album Bada Boom, and made her a part of his band on MTV Unplugged. He even introduced her to Ustad Zakir Husain, with whom she performed at Mumbai's Prithvi theatre. Ravi Kulur Ravi Kulur has performed extensively all across the globe as an Indian Classical, Contemporary & New age musician experimenting with world music, Celtic, western classical & timeless fusion jazz. Ravi’s repertoire includes playing rare South Indian ragas combined with fast fingering techniques and rhythmic structures, complimented by mellifluous melodies that surely touches the heart of every listener and demonstrates some of the finest levels of aesthetic beauty.
