Ten-second takeway
Always wanted to experience the farm life but didn’t have the opportunity? Well, Namma CrossFit is giving you one this weekend with Agri Cult.
As you sow
Known for their intense workout without the use of machines, all CrossFit workouts depend on body strength. So the lads at Namma CrossFit thought that they’d blend a workout with helping out on a farm. So fitness by helping plough a field, basically. Sounds interesting, no? This weekend, starting at 5.30am, you can join the crew to drive out to a farm in Mandya where you’ll be ploughing and sowing seeds with tools and bare hands. Rice and ragi is what you’ll be planting and it’s the ideal opportunity to bring along your friends and family to really check in with nature and experience what it is like to go back to the basics. After all, agriculture is still the country’s largest source of income.
So you reap
Then, like the farm hand would traditionally do, you’ll sit down for a meal of what is called Strength Food. Think Ragi Mudde, rice, vegetables and mutton curry. Post lunch, you’ll make your way back to the city. A great introduction to farming, as well as functional fitness training, we think it’s a novel idea.
