What Is It?
Ankur Tewari is a true indie musician and we love him, unequivocally. With tunes reminiscent of a time when Mumbai was still Bombay, and mixed tapes were the way to show your true love, he’s hitting Bangalore to release the first part of it double album — aptly called Side A/Side B. For those who’ve never owned a compact cassette, Google it — it’ll make sense. While we’re already playing on loop, the recently-released first single, Aa Jaao with Blackstratblues on the slide guitar {though we’ve been listening to the first cut on YouTube for over two years now!}, we can’t wait for the rest.
Who Is It For?
Music still your lifeline? EDM still makes you switch off the radio? Splendid, this one’s for you. Launching the album at The Humming Tree, Ankur and his band The Ghalat Family will also be performing. Old-school in composition, we’re pinning this one high on evoking intense nostalgia. After all, the album features, Karsh Kale, Grain and Sandunes & Zoe Viccaji.
