Bangalore Might Not Be Fit To Live In Soon, Says Study

The information in this post might be outdated

A study conducted by the city-based Indian Institute of Science claims that Bangalore might be unlivable in, in five years.

According to the study, in the past 40 years, there been an alarming 525 per cent growth in built-up areas, a 78 per cent decline in greenery and vegetation {Garden City no more?}, and a 79 per cent decline in the presence of water bodies {aka Bangalore's famous lakes}. Thanks to rapid real estate development, and general urban decay, Bangalore's lakes and green lungs are disappearing fast.

If this year's particularly cruel summer is not testament enough, then we don't know what is.
