Touted to be the first at-the-table barbecue restaurant, and the only barbecue buffet, Barbeque Nation still wins for novelty, grills and price too.

Barbecue Buffet

Now before you say that INR 650 upwards is too much, just remember that this is a full-blown buffet with a really cool concept of meats and veggie options being cooked {grilled, rather}, at your table. For those of you who haven’t yet made it to Barbeque Nation, then you’re missing out on some DIY fun. That said, the quality of the food has dropped since the early days of 2007.

The Indiranagar branch sits atop a building so expect a rooftop setting — perfect to get that barbecue going. Pick from vegetarian or non-vegetarian options for the starters, and the bevy of service staff will bring semi-cooked and marinated {with Indian, Mediterranean or Lebanese spices} meats {prawn, fish, chicken and mutton}, paneer, corn, potato, and veggies. Then you can take over to barbecuing process and check on your food. If you like it well done, wait a while longer, though the vegetarian stuff gets charred quickly and the meat is sometimes tricky! Fear not though, the staff will be on hand to guide you.

Main Indulgence

There is also continental food though Indian dominates. From the usual suspects like dal, biryani and paneer butter masala to the more exotic crab masala, sarson fish and mutton of some sort. Noodles, Manchurian {chicken or vegetarian} and garlic prawns are some of the Chinese options. Dessert is quite an elaborate affair here, albeit they’re not very authentic. While they have chocolate pies, cheese cake and brownies, stick to the Indian sweets. Hot gulab jamun with ice cream or phirni are favourites. But oh, when there’s a Kulfi Counter serving up chocolate, paan, kesar, chocolate, strawberry and sometimes mango flavours, who needs anything else.

Don’t even think of counting calories when you’re here.

Make reservations well in advance. This places gets jam packed.
