What Makes It Awesome

More often than not, when we hear the word organic we associate expensive with it. And why not? Most stores touting to sell organic anything burn a hole deep into our pockets. Not any more, at least when it comes to essential ingredients, thanks to Bhojanalay.

This city-based startup/e-commerce website founded by Chandan and Dilip, a duo passionate about food from the land reaching the masses, is awesome! They connect with small-farmers in and around Bengaluru to procure fresh fruits, vegetables, greens, millets, lentils, even honey and eggs. Simply connect with them through their website or Instagram and they will be more than happy to customise a box full of everything you need and send it across.

We're talking lush ripe mangoes, fresh greens, plump tomatoes, ethically sourced honey from the city, desi ghee, country eggs and spices too. They have a farm in Doddaballapura that grows only dragon fruit and guavas. And they also import apples, mulberries and cherries from Himachal.

Something we like is that in order to produce better taste and flavour (through a nutritious and sustainable model), Bhojanalay gives its farmers only heirloom seeds (free of cost) for them to grow their produce. You'd also be happy to know that prices for a kilo of fruits and veggies range between INR 25 to INR 120. Honey is priced at INR 900 a kilo while the eggs INR 12 a piece. They also have a weekly subscription starting at just INR 300.

Note that Bhojanalay delivers only on Tuesdays and Fridays, EOD. For a Tuesday delivery, place your orders by Sunday and for a Friday delivery, it's best you reach out by Wednesday.

Pro-Tip

Bhojanalay delivers through third-party platforms such as Dunzo and Swiggy Genie. They also have personal delivery executives. In light of the COVID-19 situation, they follow a 2-layer packaging system to ensure safety.
