Box O’ Magic promises to surprise you or your loved ones with boxes of baked sweets and savouries delivered mid-month.

Surprise! treats are here

Avid travellers, foodies and friends, Sanketh YS and Supriya Sri came up with the idea for Box O’ Magic when they decided to take forward their love for good food. The young entrepreneurs {in fact, they are still in college}, have tied up with some home bakers and bakeries, to deliver surprise boxes to customers on a pre-fixed day every month. Featuring an assortment of cakes, biscuits, tarts, pies, calzones and quiches, their Box O’ Magic might just be a sweet mid-month indulgence for you. Vegetarians, do not despair. You can choose to tuck into their eggless delicacies by specifying your preference while ordering. They also undertake bulk orders for parties. In an attempt to contribute to the community, the duo partners with orphanages and donates food too.

Taste test

We tried the Box O’ Magic which was delivered to us by the third week of this month. The inconspicuous box contained a variety of baked snacks like a croissant, a choco-chip cookie, a couple of Garlic Rusks and an oregano bread roll, among others. The Nuts O’ Chocolite – a bar of slightly bitter, dark chocolate strewn with almonds on top – tasted quite like homemade chocolate. Although it may not beat its counterparts available in gourmet bakeries, we liked the modest, slightly crumbly choco-chip cookie. The bread roll, Masala Cookie and Raisin Bar Cake were normal fare and nothing to go gaga over. However, we did enjoy the light, buttery croissant and the crunchy, flavourful Garlic Rusk.

So, we’re thinking…

While their choice of treats may not be surprising enough, you could still give it a try and see what they come up with for you.
