Looking for something fun this weekend? Well, we have just the thing. Five years in the making, Freedom Park finally opens its gates to skateboarders from across the city for a day of competition, food and music to celebrate #goskateboardingday.
Who Is It For?
Does your passion lie in skate boarding? Do you yearn to master the art of performing ollies {that's a trick of the skater and board being in the air at the same time}? Brilliant. Thank the HolyStoked Collective who has organised this just for you. Whether you wish to show off your skills, learn the basics or just chill and watch the pros in action, you’re all more than welcome to join in on the fun.
Why Should I Go For It?
Other than the fact that it is the biggest celebration of skateboarding the city has ever seen {or so we're told}, it starts with a skateboarding workshop — perfect if you want to pick up some new skills or hone existing ones. If you’re not interested in learning and your skating is on point already, sign up for the competition. The winners of the highest ollie, the longest ollie, the hippie jump contests and the Game Of Skate Championship are all set to win INR 5,000 and a pair of their favourite Vans pro skate!
If you’re still looking for reasons to go, there will be headlining music from punk rockers Doctor Zebra and Roadkill, one of the city’s favourite food trucks, will provide all the grub you need. It's mostly Anglo-Indian food so expect Vindaloo and Pork Shops, plus sandwiches. So rush over for a weekend of wonder and good vibes.
