Masala Mandi: This new buffet place has recently opened in Sarjapur Area. They have completely redefined how the ambience of a buffet place can be. Their buffet is totally inspired by North Indian food.
Now, here is my perspective of the place.
Food - They serve starters and chaat on the table along with a complimentary mocktail to begin with. There were 5 grilled starters in veg (Paneer Tikka, Broccoli, Aloo, Pineapple and Mushroom). Paneer was so soft that it melted in my mouth. Mushroom one was spicy and just loved the taste. All grilled starters lived up to my expectations. Then there were three more starters - Dahi Kebab, Hara Bhara Kebab, Makkai Kebab. Dahi Kebab was a bit hard and it didn’t taste good. The others were good. Now talking about the chaat plate, I liked the Dahi puri and Sev puri. I like my Pani Puri the spicier way but the Pani wasn’t that spicy. Also, Ram Ladoo felt a bit dry and could be improved.
Now, talking about the Main Course, they have a good variety in terms of curries to cater to the taste of everyone (2 types of Daal, Mix Veg, Mushroom Masala, Kadhi Pakora, Methi Paneer). They have veg biryani, steamed rice and assorted bread such as laccha paratha, kulcha,
naans which go very well with the curries.
In the desserts section, they had gulab jamun, shahi tukda, rasmalai, apple halwa, Malai pads, burfis, rabri, icecreams and kesar kulfi. My tummy was too full and I couldn’t try everything. Don’t miss the Malai Peda (it was too yummy). Kulfi was also quite good. Ras Malai could be improved.
Finally, end your meal with a Paan at Panwadi Counter.
Ambience - As soon as you enter the place, you get mesmerized by the beauty of the place. They have a small fountain in the middle. They have both indoor and outdoor seatings. The outdoor seating has swings which are pretty fancy. I have never seen such fancy ambience for a buffet place.
Service - The staff was very friendly and super attentive. I loved the hospitality of the place.
