What Makes It Awesome

Certain desserts just call out to you. Know the ones that look like a picture out of a French bakery? In Luna Patisserie's case expect a touch of Filipino flair too. Eunice the Filipino master baker behind this Covid-19 business baby has one simple mantra -- 'don't mess with the classics'! And when it comes from a culinary school student and one that has trained and worked at patisseries across Manila and Bangkok, you know there's no unwanted frills and thrills. Just soul satisfying, desserts, done well.

Luna's menu is simple in that respect but the techniques and ingredients that go into the making aren't. For example, the Classic Eclairs, a customer favourite has a craquelin puff filled with creme patisserie, glazed in 55 percent dark chocolate and topped with roasted almonds. How not to drool at this description? Another must-try are the Filipino Cheese Roll, a dessert that finds it way at every Filipino home gathering, perfect to be shared. Luna makes theirs soft, buttery and cheesy, with a taste that's halfway between sweet and savoury. You must enjoy these with a cup of hot chocolate or chai.

The Chocolate Glazed or Classic Glazed Donuts was Luna Patisserie's first dish, and believe us they look worthy enough of a cookbook cover. Rustic, big, airy! We also recommend the cake boxes -- Chocolate Mousse (drunken ganache and rum mousse), Tiramisu (homemade ladyfingers and mascarpone) and Tres Leches (vanilla sponge and chantilly cream).

Eunice also takes custom cake orders, but don't expect sugary fondant work or artificial colouring. Dream more of fine burnt cheesecakes or gâteau au citrons, instead.

Pro-Tip

Pre-ordering is fairly simple. Message Luna Patisserie on Instagram, wait for a date and time of delivery, make an online payment and arrange for pick-up on the day. They are based in JP Nagar 7th phase. Prices range between INR 220 to INR 800 on the regular menu. Eunice will soon be introducing ube based Filipino desserts too.
