What Is It?
An event organised by the Women’s Coffee Alliance, the Coffee Santhe is all about bringing together coffee planters, sellers and drinkers. In its third year now, there will be many new blends and brands being unveiled — think organic and artisan, cool contests involving coffee {of course} and even many tasting sessions to give you a proper high. And the best part? The whole santhe is a fund-raising event to empower women coffee plantation workers.
Who’s It For?
If coffee is your poison, then make sure you clear your calendar this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There’s coffee, salsa, games, contests and plenty of chatter in store. With masterclasses, tasting sessions and even a Women’s Barista Championship on the cards, it promises to be fun. Unless you’re a tea person.
Why Should I Go For It?
Are you one of those whose day doesn’t start until your first cup of coffee? Yes? Us too. And that is why you must be at the Coffee Santhe. In addition to stocking up on organic, single estate or even divine blends from across Chikmagalur, Coorg, Bilgiris, Sakleshpur and Bababudan, at the stalls selling coffee, there’s plenty of entertainment too. Lourd Vijay, the salsa king of the city will be in the house as will the graceful Padmini Ravi with some classic dances. So, from being entertained, sipping, sniffing and stocking up on your caffeine kick, there’s no real reason to not go there.
