What Is It?

Movie buffs can get set for some serious binge-watching this week on, with the 21st edition of the European Union Film Festival — a two-week long event that will bring together 23 new and award-winning European films. To be hosted across four venues in the city, the fest is organised by the Delegation of the European Union and embassies of EU Member States.

Who Is It For?

The thought of getting to watch some of the best movies from across Europe, right from Austria and Belgium to Portugal and France, might be enough reason for hardcore film enthusiasts to rejoice. But even if you are just looking for an entertaining evening, you won't be disappointed. With the lineup covering genres like comedy, drama, action and romance, there's bound to be something for everyone.

Why Should I Go For It?

Right from the inaugural movie, L'illusionniste, a 2011 French animated film that brings together comedy, drama and magic, to films like Jack, an Austrian movie that delves into the life of Jack Unterweger {a serial killer-turned-writer}, there's quite a lot to look out for. We're definitely hoping to catch the screening of Three Brothers {a Czech film which portrays the journey of three brothers who enter popular fairy tales}, Dead Man Talking {a Belgian film in which a prisoner sentenced to death is offered a strange deal} and Mi Chiamo Maya, an Italian movie about Niki, who decides to run away from home with her eight-year-old sister.

The movies will be screened twice, owing to increase in demand. So you get to plan your movie spree without having to miss any film.
