Ten-second takeaway

Geetika Agrawal and Anuja Joshi, designers from New York, have taken the year off to travel to 12 countries around the world. At every place, they are inviting locals for an evening that revolves around food, travelling tales, and music. Next stop: Bangalore.

The beginning of a journey

Long time pals and New Yorkers, Geetika and Anuja, were looking for a lifestyle change when they chanced upon the Remote Year programme. They signed up for it and soon were packing their bags to travel to 12 destinations around the world in one year while working remotely.

Always the one who loved to bring people together around food, Geetika came up with the idea of Food For Thought. She noted that while there were many experiences suited for travellers, in places they visited, there was little for locals who wanted to share or learn about other cultures.

For locals from travellers, with love

After successfully hosting locals in countries such as Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, the travelling duo has landed in India. After weighing out the pros and cons, our very own Bangalore has been chosen.

Like in other places, 15 guests will be invited to a local host’s home for a meal cooked entirely by Geetika and Anuja. In the past, they have put Indian, Brazilian, Portuguese food on the plate but this time around they are presenting a four-course menu that’s inspired by their recent travels. They have come with a healthy, vegetarian meal {to give you a break from all the binging you’ve been indulging in over Diwali} and it will feature flavours from Croatia to Penang. Guests have also been asked to bring along a musical instrument for a jam session after the meal.

When: Thursday November 19, 7pm

Price: INR 1500 per person

Navya considers herself to be the Cassandra of the 21st century – no one ever listens to the wisdom that she so willingly imparts. This is the only Greek tragedy element in her otherwise happy life. She’s got her Husband Charming, has perfected the art of sarcasm, is always fed copious amounts of good food, and is well on her way to self-actualization.
