Ten-Second Takeaway
Mumbai-based theatre group, Gillo Repertory is all set to perform not one but three of their new plays for kids, portraying tales of food, friendship and pets.
Child's Play
Focussed on theatre for kids and youngsters, Gillo Repertory tries to stick to original Indian content in their performances. Keeping it fun and interactive, they also add aspects like cultural values, age-specific issues and even a bit of learning for the little ones. Revolving around themes that children can relate to, the group's plays include adaptations of stories as well. Hoping to reach out to a wider audience, the folks at Gillo take their latest works to venues across the country, including Bangalore. And, this time around, they are bringing three of their newest works here. Go ahead and add them to your weekend plans!
Of Pets, Food & Friends
Wagabond, directed by Prasad Dagare, tells the tale of Bozo, a pet dog and his human family. Letting you see the world from his eyes, this one's performed in "English and Gibberish". Adapted from the book written by Shamim Padamsee, A Silly Story Of Bondapalli is all about food. Revolving around a king who loves to eat and his three chefs {who love to cook}, the story takes a twist when the princess of the kingdom turns out to be a fussy eater. Gulabo aur Parizaad {in Urdu} is based on two stories by Begum Qudsia Zaidi {published in 1950s}. Delving into the theme of friendship, this one's about a little mouse and a parizaad {an elf}, who discover how strange yet fun it can be to be friends with someone who is so unlike you.
