What's Happening

GoCoop, one of the first online marketplaces for everything local and handmade, is hosting an offline event called Shop For Change. From hand woven silks to contemporary ilkal weaves, the curated collection is on until January 14. And with Sankranthi just around the corner, and the excuse for shopping for sarees, jackets and stoles, is just that. So, take your Mum, Grandmum, and anyone else interested in handlooms and head to Koramangala.

The collection will showcase Maheshwari, Chanderi, Jamdani, Mangalgiri, Pochampally Ikat, Sambalpuri ikat and Tussar silk among others. Don’t just stop at telling the ladies in your life about this. The exhibition will have menswear in the form of shirts, kurtas and trousers, and home furnishings too. Go on, get some bed linen, cushion covers and durries for you home. There will even be a workshop of ilkal weaves, with other sessions on how to decipher handlooms for those who aren’t too aware but want to learn.
