Indori Chatorey, a no-frills establishment is the place for a hearty and homely vegetarian breakfast or even snack. Their Poha Jalebi, in particular, will start your day on a high note.

Sweet Spot

For all you, homesick foodies, Indori Chatorey might come as a sweet relief, we bet. Specialising in ghar ka khana, this humble, vegetarian eatery is located just off the Tavarekere Main Road, a short drive from Koramangala. This place is surrounded by PGs and you’ll find people strolling in their pajamas for brekkie or, on weekends, for lunch. It is also particularly popular on Swiggy and Uber Eats, so if you live nearby and don’t want to get out of your comfy couch, you can have it delivered to your doorstep.

Their menu begins with a handful of specials from Indore. Chief among them is the Poha Jalebi. What we got is a subtly spiced plate of poha that was topped with crunchy sev, bits of onion, and a squirt of lime. Of course, the star of the show was the sweet, sweet jalebis that add a whole new dimension to the dish. Whoever thought of putting poha and jalebis  together deserves an award, there’s no doubt about that. If you want a more filling breakfast, we recommend the Bharpur Nashta that includes Poha Jalebi, Samosa or Kachoris, and a refreshing drink.

The Lunch Box

We also tried their piping hot Paneer Parathas, that came doused in butter. It was served with pickle and raitha and is comfort food at its best. For lunch, the place has plenty of options. You can try their thalis {INR 80 onwards} or wolf down a plate of Rajma Chawal. If you are here on a Sunday, don’t forget to try the Dal Bafla Churma — another Indori delight.

Navya considers herself to be the Cassandra of the 21st century – no one ever listens to the wisdom that she so willingly imparts. This is the only Greek tragedy element in her otherwise happy life. She’s got her Husband Charming, has perfected the art of sarcasm, is always fed copious amounts of good food, and is well on her way to self-actualization.
