What Makes It Awesome

Colourful. Striking. Rich. Inherently Indian. And, traditional women's clothing! This is what comes to mind when we think of block prints. Never is it -- cool, edgy, modern, and not "just" women's clothing. Well, good news is things and thoughts are about to change because we've found a Jaipuri label that has dared to go where no person has with this beloved ancient art and craft form. Meet Kaldern, a homegrown label that is all that we've described above and then some -- basically, the best of both worlds.

Initially, Kaldern started out as a clothing label that made men's shirts, but then decided to widen horizons and give desi block prints a new lease of life in utility fashion aka accessories. Their bags are what put them on the map and what also caused us to take notice. But mind you, these aren't any ol' bags -- high in durability and usability, they have a Western and Asian sensibility of design without killing the charms of a traditional block print. Think cross body slings, trendy fanny packs, chest bags and their bestseller and signature creation -- a Pozer or Pocket Organiser, basically a small bag or a pouch that acts as a wallet.

The whole cheery vibe and aesthetics of it is what we're swooning over. Every collection is heavily inspired by uber cool street fashion and is fluid in the sense that -- it's all unisex! Alongside OG favourites of bagru and sanganer, you will also find custom and abstract block prints and patterns like in their Kaleidoscope and Wakamono (inspired by Japanese street style)! Take our word, Kaldern is as #somethingdifferent as it gets in the accessories universe.

Kaldern only deals in sustainably sourced canvas cotton fabrics to help display block prints best. All the raw materials are sourced and made in India and used to hand make every product at their manufacturing unit in Jaipur. Their prices are the best bit! Every currently ranges between INR 400 to INR 900 only. They have also introduced Bucket Hats to their range.
