Naru Noodle Bar is the city's first standalone ramen shop that's modelled like the ramen shops you'll find in Tokyo. Now, Naru is infamous for its reservation policy, which has been making Bangaloreans play fastest fingers to reserve a spot for more than a year now, but once you do get a place, then you're in for a treat. Apart from the standard lineup of shoyu, tonkotsu, and miso ramen, Chef Kavan and his team also put out monthly and seasonal special bowls. There are mini bowls for those who can't have an entire bowl. The izakaya-style set-up of Kuuraku is a hit with us, and we often head there for some of their yakitori and ramen. Their ramen portions are quite filling, and when paired with options such as Tori Kushi, you've got yourself a meal and a half. Kuuraku

One of the city’s oldest Japanese restaurants, Harima has a few ramen options that you can choose from. Our go-to order at Harima for ramen is the classic Shoyu Ramen, which you can order in two sizes—regular or large. All their ramen bowls are available in these two sizes. The Tantanmen Ramen is a spicy version (we haven't found it particularly spicy, but if you have low tolerance, then it might be spicy for you), and the Chashu Ramen comes with a chicken broth and Chashu (pork). Azuki has a Hiyashi Chuka, which is a cold ramen bowl topped with veggies that is perfect for the summer. But if it's a big bowl of broth that you want to down, then the signature Paitan Ramen, which is made with a slow-cooked eight-hour chicken broth, is what you should pick. You can add chicken or pork as your choice of meat. The noodles are handmade, and we love that. The Shoyu Ramen is the other option, to which you can add chicken or pork chashu. Azukii Bistro

This Japanese restaurant in Central Bangalore is one of our favourites for its sushi and tempura. But we also drop by here occasionally for their ramen. They do an excellent Miso Paitan Ramen, and that's our usual order. They serve half-portions for some of their ramen, and if you like dry ramen, they do a version with ground pork. Nasi and Mee, the South East Asian restaurant, has East Asian elements in the form of sushi and ramen. Their ramen menu is limited but has an interesting mix of chicken and vegetarian dishes. We're told their chicken broth is a 4-hour slow-cooked broth, and they do a miso, spicy Korean, and a shoyu variant with it. A new entrant to the city's growing Japanese restaurants, Kazan Japanese Ramen does a whole range of chicken and vegetarian ramen. They make their ramen noodles in-house, including their signature tori paitan broth. They serve ramen in two sizes&nbsp;— regular and large&nbsp;— and they also have their signature Kazan ramen that is served in a hot stone bowl, and the broth is poured into it. Suzuki San, who runs the restaurant, serves up some of the best ramen we had this side of town&nbsp;— namely <a href="https://lbb.in/bangalore/things-to-do-hsr-layout/" target="_blank">HSR</a>. The bowls are huge, and there's plenty of noodles and toppings to go about. The broth is quite rich, and we've enjoyed the spicy version. Neon Market looked quite popular on social media when they did their midnight ramen drop, and since then, they've become a stop for some good ramen in the city.
