Skip out of the pub crawls and bar nights, and sign up with events by Monks On Wheels. From in town biryani and heritage walks to out of town treks in Hampi and camping in Ooty, they’re really get you off the couch.

What Makes It Awesome

If you’re like us, and have said, “I’m going to do something different this weekend.” But also like us have ended up at pubs on 12th Main Indiranagar or Koramangala, we have a solution! It’s called Monks On Wheels. A group of college friends who decided to create a group that gets out of the house, and even out of town to explore, they curate events you can be part of. In fact, LBB and Monks On Wheels had an event recently which we teamed up for a heritage and yoga walk. The result of that was 25 different people, happily engaging with each other over filter coffee and masala dosa

Mixing adventure, heritage, culture, food and fun, Monks On Wheels is a great way to not only discover the city, but also make new friends. Bringing together complete strangers, you’re sure to find like-minded folks at their gatherings. If you’re a foodie, then they have biryani walks and street food scouting sessions. Those into adventure, sign up when they have cycling trips to Yelagiri (yup, hard core!) or just amble along like team LBB as they weave through historical and cultural sights in town. And ooh, photo walks. Nothing like a walk through good old Bangalore to take photos to up that Instagram game.

What Could Be Better

They’re more of an adventure and networking community, so don’t expect them to fulfil the role of a city guide. It’s more surface level details, and in depth fun!
