Ten-Second Takeaway

Bored of the treadmills and aerobics classes of the world? This new fitness space looks to switch things up with new challenges, training regimes and a swanky rooftop health café.

Switching It Up

When four friends Vinay Lad, Shruti Thakur Lad, Madhusudhan and Hamsa Reddy couldn’t find tailor-made workouts or fitness regime that suited them, they decided to start something on their own. And thanks to that, we now have Volt Energy Club. Smack in the centre of Indiranagar on 12th Main, this one blends science, design, fitness and luxury to elevate the status of that usually dreaded fitness.

So folks, want to get in some solid cardio and strength training? They have a dedicated floor for that. For those who like to move in packs, there’s a spinning studio and Brazilian Capoeira sessions. We can’t wait to try out the Les Mills workouts and for a change it’s the GRIT {a 30-minute high-intensity interval training workout for cardiovascular fitness and speed} and the CX Works which works on your core. Need motivation? They have personal trainers too, to keep you on your toes.

Not all work and no play, relax those {screaming-with-pain} muscles at their steam or massage rooms before you head up to the breezy terrace to pamper yourself at the Health Café.

More on this when we’ve tried, tested and hopefully survived the workout{s}.
