What Makes It Awesome

If you love a beach holiday, then we’re sure that Lighthouse Beach in Kovalam is very much on your radar. With a red and white striped lighthouse, reminiscent of the ones we’ve read about in our Enid Blyton books, coconut trees as far as the eye can see, and cool blue waves rolling into the sand, this is #beachgoals right here. Don’t believe us? Just Google Lighthouse Beach and you’ll know what we’re talking about. So now that the beach has definitely made your travel list for 2018, we’ve gone the extra mile and even found you a place to stay in, while you’re there.

The Ocean Park Beach Resort is right on the Lighthouse Beach, which means you’ll be waking up to the sound of waves crashing and warm sunlight flooding your room {not to mention the stunning views}. Right in the thick of things, a 100-metre walk will get you to the lighthouse {this is where you Instagram away} where you can just lay out and soak up the sun, maybe even take a quick dip.

Apart from its central location, there are many other reasons to shack up in The Ocean Park Beach Resort. The rooms are neat and well-maintained, and most of them come with a balcony, to make the most of this much beach access. And the resort has a library and a games and activity centre too. If you want to take your relaxation to a whole other level, they’ve got a spa and wellness centre to loosen you up. Plus, take strolls along their lovely garden when you want to be lost in thought. And when hunger strikes, head to their on-site eateries, Impresso Cafe for Indian, Chinese, Italian and Continental fare and Cardamom which is a 24-hour coffee shop. With the standard rooms priced at just INR 1,400 for two, it’s a pretty sweet deal.

Pro-Tip

Although there’s plenty to do at the resort itself, we highly recommend stepping out and just spending all day on the beach. You can even rent bicycles from the resort and take on the town. The resort is also only 200 metres away from the Marine Aquarium, so all those fascinated with life underwater should definitely make a trip, and see if you can find Nemo.
