Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence is a world class sports facility that aims to promote and build a platform for Indian youngsters to excel in their field.
Rahul Dravid And Prakash Padukone Team Up For Bangalore's First Private Sports Facility
Founded by Vivek Kumar, also the co-founder of the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy and with co-chairmen being the great shuttler Prakash Padukone and former Indian Cricket Team captain Rahul Dravid, the CSE is a centre with internationally acclaimed facilities, offering young Indian athletes a hassle free environment to develop and sharpen their skills. And just when I’ve turned into an adult, they bring this!
What makes this one stand out is that they also have facilities, equipment and infrastructure to differently-abled athletes too, that will help hone their skills and simultaneously aid with rehabilitation and development.
For those of you looking to aim to greatness, this sports centre will kit you out with an Olympic-size swimming pool for all those aiming to be the next Michael Phelps. In fact, the country’s Myrtha swimming pool calls this centre home. Expect Olympic grade facilities, with pool design and and indoor pool construction that will make you want to win gold.
If Messi and Ronaldo are more your role models, think football pitches with proper FIFA regulations. Of course there’s tennis courts to get your Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna game on. Oh, and there’s an indoor and outdoor cricket pitch too for all the budding…well, Rahul Dravids, naturally! And since Prakash Padukone is associated with the place, badminton can’t be far behind can it. So come December, gear up for 16 BWF-approved synthetic surface courts.
In The Club
The space also has a Sports and Science Centre with a gym and rehabilitation centre – with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and injury rehabilitation, that really seals its position as an all-round sports centre, and not just a space to haphazardly pick up a sport. These guys mean business.
Once you become a member, you’ll also get access to a members area, a sports library, and access to space for private events and concierge services. But currently, the centre is only open for cricket and football.
Member bookings open in August 2018.
