Be Part Of A Zine Making Workshop This Weekend, And Get Featured In A Comic Book

What Is It?

As a precursor to the Festival of Stories next weekend, there is a zine making workshop this weekend in the Cubbon Park Metro Station. Now a zine is a form of magazine and it is all about the site this time, which is the metro station. The workshop begins with you meeting near the jet in Cubbon Park and walking around the park, seeing the different installations and projects that have been set up in the past year. This is all as a feeder to your slowly running mind, that is now inspired to create and produce your own zine. The workshop is conducted by PagalCanvas, Art In Transit, Puncher Press and deadtheduck, which are all a part of the zine making and comic publishing.

Who Is It For?

This is for budding artists and those who like making zines and comics, and anyone with an artistic mind and hands. What starts off as a sound recording, will be translated into drawings of your very own zine, that will be sold in the Comic and Zine festival at the Festival of Stories, from the 20th to the 23rd of October, 2017. This will become even a silent comic if needed, to be portrayed in that way! It’s all about Cubbon Park, so the entire park is your inspiration to make something awesome. And through the week, you’ll see the zine come to shape.

Why Should I Go For It?

Well, if you’d like to have your very own zine or comic published and sold to the public, as well as everyone to see your art and talent, then this seems like an event to you. Plus the workshop is being conducted by some pretty cool people, who will make sure that from sound recording to the final product is done the way you want it and they guide and help you fully. And you earn all the money that your zine makes. To be a part of the workshop, send a few examples of your work to puncherpress@gmail.com.
