Ten-second takeaway

Rolling Frames Film Society’s third edition of the International Film Summit 2015, starts tomorrow. Chase Bowman, Imtiaz Ali and Ricky Kej will be part of it.

Tell me more

For starters, director T S Nagabharana, Grammy-award winner Ricky Kej, director Imtiaz Ali, Biren Ghose, and Sandeep Marwah will be there. But if you need more convincing then the event will see an art exhibition, seminars, master classes and pitching forums as part of the schedule. The summit will see some of the BAFTA, Grammy, Filmfare and National award-winning directors, producers, cinematographers, editors, supervisors, writers and visual effects experts as speakers and mentors. They will cater to film enthusiasts, aspiring film makers, talented artists, students of various institutes, kids and foreign nationals. Plus, scores of films which you’ll probably not get a chance to watch again. Aimed at helping short filmmakers from across the globe, this edition promises to better the previous ones with participation from over 51 countries and over 1,000 films. Oh and did we mention, cinematographer Chase Bowman, of In The Dark and Listen To Your Heart, fame will hold a master class.

On screen

Academy-award winning director Danis Tanovic’s film Baggage kicks things off on the film festival front. A dark humour about a boy returning to a war zone to find his parents, this one is a must watch. Darren Langland’s The Martyr { the story of MI5 Agent Laura Kent post a terrorism incident} and Here to Fall by Kris Kelly, about a daughter reconnecting with her father are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the rest of the list.
