What Is It?

When you have Atta Galatta and Tahatto {a city-based theatre group} coming together, there's bound to be a lot of drama on the cards. And, sure enough, the second edition of their two-day event, Speaking of Theatre has panel discussions, performances, plays and workshops to bring together theatre enthusiasts in the city. Get set to add some theatrics to your weekend, folks!

Who Is It For?

Whether you're a theatre fan, performer or just someone hoping to have an eventful weekend, their lineup has enough to keep you engaged.

Why Should I Go For It?

Atta Galatta speaking theatre

For the diverse lineup of events, of course. Be it the curtain raiser, Of Love and Longing - Kuch Pyaar Kuch Tadap, a performance which blends poetry {by theatre artist, Padmavati Rao}, music {by singers, Bindumalini and Vasu Dixit} and Kathak by dancer, Simran Godhwani, or the dramatised performance by 10 city-based professional actors, there's quite a lot to look forward to. If the panel discussions don't interest you much, sign up for workshops by Djembe player, Ashok Kumar and actor/director, Anitha Santhanam. While the unique fusion of Bharatanatyam and Dastangoi sounds like a performance not to be missed, we're also hoping to watch Anthology, a collection of five award-winning short plays by Chennai-based entertainment collective, Stray Factory.
