An exclusive adidas shoe launch, music-themed running course and an after-run DJ set — here’s what happened at the first Music Run in the city.

Starting Off

We’ve already told you about The Music Run for which LBB partnered with adidas, that happened over the weekend. In case you’re among the ones who couldn’t make it, we give you the lowdown on all that happened at the inaugural edition of The Music Run in the city.

Kickstarting with some rock music, courtesy All The Fat Children {city-based band}, the event’s highlight included the launch of the all-new adidas Ultra Boost Uncaged running shoes. Described as a combination of Ultra Boost’s performance and the flair of their creative fan base, the shoe was unveiled by the Run Bot. What’s more, the lucky winner of the EnergyUncaged contest, Akanksha Nanda, got to walk away with the first pair of the shoes, from Alisha Abdullah {the country’s first female car and bike racer}. Trainer and athelete, Ayesha Billimoria was also at the venue, promoting the launch.

Get Running

The zumba warm-up was just what the runners needed, all set with the event kit {received on registration} which included an exclusive adidas t-shirt for the run. Awaiting them was the Soundtrack – the 5K course lined with over 120 speakers and five different themed zones for each kilometre {rock, pop, old school, hip hop and dance}. Adding to the fun, there was a tunnel by adidas with thermocol balls to run over {and shoes hanging all around}, and a stretch by Fastrack with huge beach balls to dodge around.

Another spot to check out was the adidas zone where participants could take up an exciting maze run, and winners got to score a kit with adidas merchandise.

If that weren’t entertaining enough, the after-run festival got everyone grooving to upbeat music by artistes like DJ Gyro and Mumbai-based band, Lost Stories. Plus, LED screens and laser lights adding to the party effect. For those {like us} hanging around, there were stalls with activities {think foosball and a wall for graffiti messages}, a chillout zone with hammocks, and light eats.
