You can now by-pass all the traffic on the KR Puram area and Old Madras Road thanks to this convenient train. The DEMU {Diesel Electric Multiple Unit} train is the 19th one that operates on this route, but the timings are what makes this one most convenient. Why? Because it is smack during peak hours, leaving Byappanahalli at 8.25 am and arriving in Whitefield at 8.50 am. This means the 15-kilometre journey which can take anything from 45 minutes to sometimes up to 90 minutes during those hours, will now be easy as pie for commuters. Yes, we’re looking at you, techies!
The same train will ply in the reverse route, leaving Whitefield at 6.15pm, and chugging into Byappanahalli at 6.40pm. Phew! Now we can actually have a life beyond sitting in traffic and making PC with fellow travellers in a cab pool.
