World Guitar Nights is a shout out to all who’ve found solace in Hendrix, Santana or Slash through the years. This concert series was started by Konarak Reddy, the city-based guitar aficionado known for his music — a fusion of Carnatic and Hindustani styles. Touring and performing with some of the premier guitarists of the world, the biennial series is curated by him and features musicians who specialise in distinct styles — be it the groovy blues or the sexy Spanish guitar. Their impeccable technique and musical know-how will definitely get you awe-struck.
If riffs and progressions strike a chord with you, World Guitar Nights is definitely your thing. While anybody who appreciates world music is welcome, this one’s also for all the ace air guitarists among you.
For the varied music, of course! Canadian finger-style guitarist Don Ross is going to blow your mind with his music, jazz pundit Lior Yekutieli from Israel will follow up, and German musician Ahmed El-Salamouny’s bossa nova and Brazilian style should leave your mind boggled. Konarak Reddy’s performance wraps it all up into a dream gig waiting to happen! It’s music touched by cultures across the globe.
