Hit The Road & Ride On: Check Out These 5 Online Bike Rental Sites In Chennai

Renting bikes is now easier than ever. So we’ve put together a list of 5 online bike rental sites and compared them based on what they offer to help you choose the one that suits you best.

Advertised as India’s largest bike rental website, Wheelstreet is the only bike rental site that has its own phone app. With a fleet of Indian bikes from the Honda Activa to the 220cc Bajaj Pulsar, and an average price range {INR 750 per day for the 150cc Bajaj Pulsar}, Wheelstreet is a quick way to get yourself a ride for the city.

Bikes unfortunately have to be picked up at the dealer’s as delivery is unavailable at this time. Also be sure to check your bike out before you use it.

Another Pan-India bike rental site, Rentrip offers the lowest prices among the five websites {INR 550 per day for the 150cc Bajaj Pulsar}. Their range of two wheelers extends from the Honda Activa (INR 440 per day) up to the Royal Enfield Himalayan {Rate unavailable}. Availability of the higher end bikes is hit or miss depending on the dealer’s current stock.

Vehicle drop off service is not available in Chennai at this time, however they do have a support hotline in the off chance you have bike trouble while on your ride. Quality wise Rentrip is rated well as their bikes are checked and tested by their own technicians after every ride. The cherry on the cake is that they lend you a helmet for free too.

We’re starting to enter the more premium end of the list with Chennaimotorcyclerental.com. Their fleet of bikes ranges from the TVS XL Moped {INR 275 per day} to the Triumph Bonneville T120 {INR 10,000 per day}, and even includes sport bikes like the KTM RC 390 {INR 2,50 per day). While they do offer city bikes they’re primarily aimed at riders going on long trips and that is reflected in the reduced pricing for long duration bike rentals {three weeks and above}.

They even have an accessory shop where you can hire biking gear like riding leathers and helmets. Oh and they’re the only site on this list that offer bicycles too, like the high-end Bianchis and Canondales. But above all service and vehicle quality is top notch which makes this a great pick.

The only other pure Chennai online bike rental service, Dateabike.com does a lot more than just bike rentals. They organise guided and custom bike tours, sell biking accessories and even function as a service centre for high end motorcycles.

Similar to the previous site, Dateabike.com is in the premium bike rental market but offers just seven varieties of high-end bikes. With the Triumph Bonneville going for INR 8,400 per day they offer the lowest price point for high-end bikes. Additionally being a small outfit, their ability to focus on quality and service is much higher and that reflects in the glowing reviews they receive. If you can get past the lack of variety, dateabike.com is the best pick for long journeys.

Royalbrothers.in is the only high-end online bike rental service that operates pan-India, that offers cars on rent too! Similar to Dateabike.com, with a small fleet of nine different bikes {and a Honda Activa} on offer in Chennai, they’re aimed at riders going on long rides.

Bikes like the Himalayan {INR 1,700 per day}, KTM Duke 390 {INR 2,500 per day}, Royal Enfield Classic 350 {INR 1,400 per day} and the Harley Davidson Street 750 {INR 5,500 per day} are what’s on offer. In addition to renting bikes they offer guided bike tours that you can pay to sign up for. They offer bike delivery and pickup too. From a quality standpoint they’re rated highly, which is amazing given that they run all across the country!
