At the outdoor exhibits, there are over 40 models of trains which include the more recognisable 1860s double decker coach, the open air and luxury train coaches. Also, there are model trains made from countries around the world including Sri Lanka, Philippines and Vietnam at the museum.

Don’t forget to see John Fowler’s single cylinder steam engine in front of the new gallery which was used to plough agricultural land and it’s a wonder that he made this in 1895! Want to see something else cool? There is a solar-powered light right next to the Accident Relief Train {ART} which is an interesting initiative by the ICF. Other interesting sights would be the Niligiri Mountain Railway coach, an inspection car and and the Diamond Jubilee gallery to know more about the ICF.

Taking kids along? Don’t worry, there is also a playground that will keep them happy. With plans for a park inside the premises and an air-conditioned coach with a restaurant, this place is a must visit for those train enthusiasts or anyone looking to do a bit of sight-seeing in the city!
