What Makes It Awesome

Started by the makers of Jaya’s Handiworks, Selai Nayaki is an online label offering the best of sarees, handpicked from weavers across the country. Mul Mul Cottons, Kancheepuram Checks, Mangalgiri sarees - this place really offers the best of the best from the Indian weaving community, that too at budget prices!

Our favourite were the bamboo and banana fibre sarees which are actually made with bamboo and banana fibres. Representing the organic weaves of Tamil Nadu, these come with an attached blouse and are priced at about INR 3200.

Selai Nayaki also offers some rare picks like Chedi Butta weaves, Narayanpet Cottons, Kalamkari Mul Mul and more. Their Chedi Butta weave with two extreme tones of pink has our heart. But it’s their Sambhalpuri Ikkat saree that we found to be a true masterpiece. With the Konark sun and temple patterns adorning the pallu, this one redefines artsy and has been designed as a tribute to the Kargil warriors. Priced at INR 2350, you can find it in shades of grey, red, green and ochre.

We also love how Selai Nayaki offers upcycled merch. These can be found in their kurti sets which come with printed kurta materials and a printed, upcycled dupatta in earthy tones. As for the prints, you can find a lot of Ikkats and Ajrakh (from Gujarat) in these sets that start from INR 1850.

Pro-Tip

They also have combos in their Kalamkari Mul Mul cottons where you can grab a saree, a matching blouse and also a neckpiece for INR 1700
