Sure, we’ve been hearing a lot about the cryptocurrency and still trying to wrap our heads around it, but this little Chennai mess is being quite the pioneer and has introduced payment in Bitcoin. According to this report in The Hindu, Suri Andhra Mess in Taramani is the first restaurant in Chennai to accept Bitcoin payments.
The mess has about six tables and offers Hyderabadi biryani and Andhra meals. It has already seen 10 Bitcoin transaction since September when it first tied up with an Indian Bitcoin wallet. So to encourage Chennaites to use this digital currency, they’re offering free biryani to customers who pay for other dishes on the menu using Bitcoin. Isn’t that cool?
