What Makes It Awesome

Bag lovers (and we are a crowd), listen close! If you’re looking for handbags to go with your office wear or chic slings to pair with your #OOTD Goals, check out Terku.

Started by Fariha Begum, Terku's USP is that its bags are made from traditional Indian fabrics. They directly work with handloom weavers across South India and source eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics to make lifestyle products. Once Fariha gets the right yarn, she gives them to weavers (most of whom are over 60 years of age) in Erode who give them life. Their collection ‘Varnajaalam’ showcased a series of accessories made from handwoven cotton.

Terku also has bags in the dreamiest shades and patterns. We love the texture of the cotton sling bag with green, blue, and purple colours. The sassy clutch in summery yellow will make you clutch it all day. They’ve also got striped laptop bags which talk business. The bags are priced from INR 1,500.

What Could Be Better

It’s a bit pricey, but the brand is helping sustain the weaving community of South India and is going the extra mile to revive indigenous fabric, so yay!
