5 Reasons To Check Out The Grub Fest 2016, Apart From The Food

The information in this post might be outdated

It’s unlikely that you’d be able to say “no” to the insane variety of good food you’ll encounter between rolls, sushi, cupcakes, and cocktails {obviously}. But if you’re also someone who doesn’t mind a day out with some fun activities, The Grub Fest this year has lots of interesting sessions planned to appeal to both your personas—the eating one and the experimenting-in-the-kitchen one.

Here’s all that we’re rooting for at the LBB x Grub Theatre this year…

Movie Screenings

131016_grubfestInstead of making the fest a night scene, we suggest you get there early with your gang—The Grub Theatre will show food-related movies for all three days with Julie & Julia {Oct 14}, Ratatouille {Oct 15} and Chef {Oct 16}. So, from 1pm – 3pm, you can stoke your appetite watching some lovely food porn and then head to the fest to get your fill. Sounds like a plan, right?

Ballantine's Tasting Session {And Talk}

This 1827 scotch whiskey brand ranks second in the world, and here’s a class where you’ll get to know about its history, composition and more, down to the malts and grains. The talks will be conducted by two awesomesauce brand ambassadors—Paul O’ Connor {of Ballantine Scotch} and Lorcan Garvey {of Jameson Irish Whiskey} —between 8 - 9pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Bonus: You get to taste the scotch!

Mixology Classes

131016_grubfest2Love potent potions? Join the party and learn to make some yourself. Mixologist Tally Mac by Auro Kitchen & Bar will make cocktails using fresh fruits, along with Gaurav Dabria and Edwin Rose who'll demo some of the best cocktails from Niche’s bar menu, as well as chef Zaeden doing a quick demo and meet-and-greet with his guests.

Cookout By The Weber Grill

Witness the magical tikkas at Weber’s barbecue grill with experts guiding the way. Attend these so you’re all prepped up for that next barbecue party at home {remember, evenings are already getting more pleasant}. The sessions will happen every day between 3pm – 4pm and 6pm – 7pm.

Cooking Demos With Top Chefs

131016_grubfest3Piyush Jain, Executive Chef at Molecule Air Bar, will share his culinary secrets related to modern cooking {Sun; 4pm - 5pm}, Roasarte’s Radhika Gulati will hold a chocolate making session {Sat; 4pm - 5pm} and chef Jay Prakash of Chull, a newly opened restro bar, will whip up butter chicken and dal makhani fondues {yum!}.

Kapil Sethi from Tandavv will share his favourite appetiser recipes {Fri; 7pm – 8pm}, while Jamsheed & Hanisha from My Little Food Company {Sat; 7pm – 8pm} and Rohan DSouza {Sun; 7pm – 8pm} have some surprise menus planned, all so that you can be the host with the most at the next dinner party.
