9 Food Festivals in February for Your Fill of Fun

As if there isn’t already enough happening in our beloved city, this month is full of exotic eats and fast food. We tracked down all these food festivals for you; try them out!

Beer Pong Festival

This is a two-day festival at Ikka and BoomBox by GoYaNo. You can drink as much as you like, play games like beer pong, flip cup, sip and sing, and chug-in first. Oh, and there are lots of prizes. There’s an unlimited starters package, and four pints of beer for INR 400 onwards. This is an invite-only event, so sign up soon.

The Dim Sum Festival

Asia7 has outdone itself with its brand new Dim Sum Festival, with lots of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dim sums to fill up your tummy. Along with the usual steamed Sui Mai, Crystal Dumplings, Seabass Mili Roll, Veg Peanut Dumplings and more, they're also doing kotheys, which are pan-fried dim sums. Also, look out for their pork baos, Spicy Cube Chicken Bao and Bell Pepper Bao.

Whiskey and Cigar Festival

With over 40 premium whiskies and cigars on show and for you to sample, you can welcome Glenfiddich {21, 18, 15, 12}, Balvenie, Glenlivet {25, 21, 18, 15, Founders Reserve and 12}, Royal Salute 21, Old Pulteney, Balblair, Cardhu, Oban, Tomatin, Avalan Solicit Bourbon Cask from Taiwan, Penderyn Red Flag from Wales, Teerenpeli Kaski from Finland, Booker Noe’s Bourbon and Mackmyra Preludium 06 from Sweden. Phew!

Amrosu Soup Festival

Nagaland’s Kitchen has an ongoing soup festival that is the talk of the town. Catch it in the first week of Feb, for they have an excellent selection of Amrosu Soup in veg, pork, prawn and chicken variants. If you’re a fan of the pungent Naga ginger, then this is a stop to make for sure.

Asian Hawkers Market

Coming back to light up your lives, {and giving you one more option during the Valentine’s weekend}, Asian Hawkers Market promises to deliver on all of your pan-Asian fantasies. They promise you a one-of-its-kind al fresco food festival that will bring the best of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and south-east Asian cuisine under one roof. Look out for a restaurant launch, and music, entertainment, children's areas, hawkers’ streets, merchandise and performances.

Mini Palate Fest

Three days of stuffing and eating are guaranteed with the Mini Palate this Feb. Eat there or get your meal doggy-bagged at 70 food stalls, comprising 30 well-established restaurants and some tiny hole-in-the-walls too. There will be proper seating amidst the pleasant outdoors, and 40 stalls comprising popular dessert brands, as well as home baker. Don't miss out.

Bao Wow Festival

The Fatty Bao, the Asian gastro-bar, is going to host a 14 day-long #BaoWowFestival this February. Go for the fabulous eats as well as their new inclusions of soft pillowy-white baos, each giving you a distinct flavour, filled with something different every time. Try the Spicy Wild Mushroom and Chickpea bao drizzled with chili garlic mayo, or the Crispy Tofu and Soy or Bell Pepper bao.

We also recommend trying the Five Spice Fried Chicken bao, Chilli Crab & Prawn bao, the Roast Duck bao…you get the drift.

Kids Culinaire

For those concerned about their children's diets, Kids Culinaire brings you a fun way to get children to interact with food and learn how to make healthy choices. Trying to have fun with food like Popeye does with Spinach, the festival also tries to raise awareness about lifestyle diseases, food allergies, proper hygiene, etc.

You can look forward to demos by celebrity guests, cooking contests, food tours, grow your kitchen garden and more, just for kids and kicks.

Maggi Fest #MaggiTujheSalaam

We would have never thought that the hashtag #MaggiTujheSalaam would do the rounds, but our most gastronomical dreams have come true with GoBuzzinga’s Maggi Fest. While their last festival might have tanked a little bit {Momo Festival}, we’re hoping that this one is better organised. You can expect Maggi Samosa, Maggi Momos, Vodka Maggi, Maggi Pizza, Keema Maggi, Makhani Maggi, Chilli Cheese Maggi, Butter Fry Maggi and a lot more!
