What Makes It Awesome

CAD Tech Bar is a two-month old bar in Gurgaon that has got the G-Town folks raving about it. Aptly so, because it's supposed to be India's first tech-inspired bar that lets you order food and drinks via a touchscreen console fitted in the table. You can actually 'Add to Cart' your order, browse through their menu and one of our favourite things about this table console is that it lets you play fun games while you're waiting for your order. The games include Tic Tac Toe, Spin The Bottle, Fill The Bottle and you can even vote for songs to be played via this console (song with the most number of votes gets added to the day's playlist). The interface is also pretty smooth and the whole experience of placing an order via a table is a lot more fun that we imagined it to be.

Coming to the space itself, it's massive. It is done up in shades of black and brown, has spacious seating booths and also an outdoor area where you'd find us on good weather days.

To be honest, we were already quite impressed with CAD, but then they decided to take things up a notch with their epic food. Everything we tried here - the Street Discs (Palak Patta Chaat Canape with Blueberry Yoghurt Mousse), Butter Chicken Filopie, Achaari Roasted Pizza and Five-Spiced Chocolate Fondant (yes, we were two very hungry folks) - was a winner. Our favourite out of the lot though, had to be the Butter Chicken Filopie. Our inner Dilliwalah couldn't get enough of these crispy cigar rolls filled with flavourful butter chicken gravy.

What Could Be Better

When we checked out CAD, we felt that the music was a bit too loud and the lights a little too dim. If you're looking for a sit-down dinner type place where you can have long conversations or for smaller groups, CAD might disappoint you. The seats are also located a little far apart for small gatherings (two to three people)

However, it's the perfect spot if you want to chill with a large group of friends over drinks and dance the night away.

Pro Tip

Hey, if you're not comfortable with placing your order via a table screen, don't. They also have an actual print and paper menu that you can request your server to get.
