[alert type=white ]This event now over.[/alert]Art is a beautiful thing that gives happiness unconditionally. We all know at least one art buff, and we've all heard them rave about the importance of art, and also about how expensive it is {and rightfully so}. So here's an opportunity to indulge your fancy, and get something affordable and up your alley, at The Portret Project this August.

Begun as a concept gallery that focuses on the art of portraiture and its evolution, The Portret Project is going to present a Twenty for Twenty Exhibition that will include curated artworks of dimensions 11.7 x 16.5 inches. This is going to be the inaugural show of a year-on project that will showcase portraits by artists in varied fields, ranging from the traditional to the conceptual. The most exciting part of the whole programme is that each of these portraits is going to be sold at INR 20,000.

The idea is to make good artwork available and accessible to young collectors and enthusiasts, and dispel the myth of art being unapproachable. This is a fascinating project that explores the representation of the self in art, and promotes an aesthetic engagement in the GenY. We are really excited by the digital research project called TPP’s Guide to Collecting Contemporary Art, which will soon be made available, so we know the basics of what to look for when starting our very own collections.

The displays will appear as pop-ups at venues around town, all year round, so keep your eyes open!
