Away from the maddening summer crowds of Nainital, I was steered to the barely known Kumaon villages of Pangot and Chanfi. This place is a must-go for people looking to disconnect from all things electronic {except your cameras of course}, especially for nature lovers and those of you {like me} for whom breathing fresh air is a luxury.
We went on nature trails, saw some wildlife species, several birds including some rare ones while relaxing amidst nature. Both the properties we stayed at are cut off from the main road, small and offer very personal experiences.
Mine was a 3 night and 4-day trip and everything was arranged from the moment we arrived at the Kathgodam Train Station. We stayed 2 nights in Pangot and 1 night in Swiss Luxury Camps by a small river in Chanfi. All the meals we had there were really good.
