With Bengali cuisine creating waves in Delhi, we also found a few Bengali food outlets in Dwarka catering to the community in Mahavir Enclave and around. Starting from food to sweetmeats, these are our recommendations for the Bong foodie in you.

Probashi

‘A Bengali who lives outside Bengal’—that’s what Probashi means; a foreigner who misses all things he associates with home. And this is exactly what makes the food here so welcome to the city dwellers. Try the Lau Chingri {Shrimp with Gourd} and the Fish Kobiraji here. The peas cutlet and kofta are equally good, should you want something vegetarian.

This nondescript little shop in Dwarka serves the most delicious Mochar Chop and Chingri Mochar Chop {banana flower cutlet with shrimp}. The staff here recommends the Daber Payesh {rice kheer with tender coconut}. Those who like to tuck in at home, fret not; they also have a delivery service.

Sitting in the middle of Mahavir Enclave, Debnath is the spot that provides mishti to families living in the area. They are known for their cham cham, kheerkodoms, roshomalai and shondesh. They do a fabulous hot kachori and vegetables in the mornings {along with jalebis} if you want to catch some mouthwatering breakfast. They also do catering for households and small scale events.
