Art&Found

Shortcut

The brainchild of Aditya Mehta, Art&Found is an effort to get exquisite works of art the attention they deserve. In essence, it is a curated platform that connects art collectors and lovers {even those whose budgets aren’t extravagant} to artists.

Painting A Rosy Picture

Luckily for Aditya, an ex Ogilvy Art Director, he was surrounded by artists who worked with agencies, design houses and even as freelancers from their homes. But there was also the fact that these creators of art were hugely undervalued. Enter Aditya, unfurling his imaginary cape and taking matters in his hands.

What happened next is this: He starts venturing out in search of hidden talent, looking for gifted Indian artists who were living a life of oblivion. As he adds more artists, the side project grows into a bigger movement – and Art&Found is finally found.

You can browse through the collection here or bump into the artist commune at one of the exhibitions Art&Found regularly participates in.

A Fresh Start For All Of Us

There are many reasons why we’re loving this online space. For one, it brushes aside the misconception that art is the exclusive preserve of the rich and famous. So now, people like us who dig cheap booze and handpainted sneakers, can have artwork in our room with flea market fairy lights bringing them into focus.

The collection at Art&Found actually starts from INR 1,200 with INR 20,000 being the upper limit.

The buying process at Art&Found is something we’re so used to as well. Like something? Click, add to cart and wait for it to arrive. Also, we’ve been tipped that there’ll be discounts around Diwali – to add to the already thrifty price tags and free shipping all over India, that is.
