Shortcut

Buzzaria Dukaan in the shopping arcade near Qutub Minar, does handcrafted products sourced from various places across India. The owner, Mamtaa Gupta’s aim is to provide a sustainable livelihood for Indian brands.

Great For

Affordable stationery, body care, footwear, soft toys, black pottery, home furnishing products and more.

What Makes It Awesome

Products from over 10 NGOs and over 50 different brands can be found here. The platform acts as an aggregator for the multiple smaller organisations who believe in keeping Indian crafts alive and giving employment to those who earn from this labour of love. To name a few, Atulya Kala (works with deaf artists) offers a range of bags and posters at Buzzaria; Astitva's crochet toys and coasters, body care and skin care products from Neev, Kumaoni Avni's saris, stoles, organic kumkum and more are some other products you can find here. Among the dying crafts are the black pottery products, as there are very few artisans left for this kind of work.

Pro-Tip

Tread carefully, for you are walking on the labour of love. Even the women employed belong to the neighbourhood, so be patient with them. Gupta has trained them very well, but keep your language simple and local.
